Supabase for Startups
Pro tier access and credits for startups building on Postgres
About this program
Supabase is the default Postgres-first backend for startups that want auth, storage, and realtime baked in without stitching services together. The startup program layers Pro-tier access on top of Supabase's already generous free tier, which is what most small teams need once they start adding paying users.
For founders weighing Supabase against raw Postgres on AWS or a Firebase migration, the program matters most once you need daily backups, larger databases, or higher auth throughput. If you are still prototyping, the free tier is usually enough to get to beta without any program activation.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Supabase startup program only for YC companies?
No. Y Combinator is one partner, but the program extends to other accelerators and VC funds. Check with your current investor or accelerator to see whether they are in the list.
What is covered at the Pro tier?
Pro adds branching environments, daily backups, higher compute and storage ceilings, and increased rate limits on auth. The full list is on the Supabase pricing page.
Does this include Supabase Edge Functions?
Edge Functions are part of the platform. Credits typically apply across the billed components of the platform, including Edge Functions invocations.
Can I use Supabase locally before activating the program?
Yes. Supabase's CLI runs the whole stack locally so you can build and test without touching the hosted plan. Activate the program when you are ready to deploy to production.
